“We can bring our unique experiences and perspectives to Viking and feel appreciated.”

What do you like most about your role at Viking?

I love what I do. There aren’t a lot of careers like it. If you’re intellectually curious and you’re excited about companies and how industries work, there’s no other job like it. I come to work every day and try to solve problems. I dive into industries and individual companies and really learn how they work. And I see a lot of different business models. I also work independently while being supported with multiple resources.

How would you describe the culture of the organization?

The culture is very collaborative and very supportive, and we all learn together. That includes learning from our mistakes. We share what we’ve learned – both the positive and the negative – to help improve our processes going forward. We can bring our unique experiences and perspectives to Viking and feel appreciated. I’m a new mother and I’d love to see more women join our industry. At Viking, I’ve always felt like I belonged and could contribute to our success.

Has your role evolved since you first joined Viking?

I first joined Viking on the healthcare team as a summer intern and then I went on to join that team full-time as a senior analyst after I completed my MBA. Over time, I’ve always been able to assume new responsibilities and feel as if I was progressing in my career. At Viking, I’ve never felt as if I was hitting a career ceiling. I’ve been at the firm for over eight years and I’m still not bored. Every day there’s a new trend or a new press release hits the wire and I get the excitement of figuring out what’s behind it.
